The Mercy of Thin Air
Jun 9, 2008

Author: Ronlyn Dominigue
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Adult Publishing Group Pub. Date: September 2005
ISBN-13: 9780743278805

Raziela is madly in love and on her way to a clearly defined life of her choosing when she dies in a tragic, silly accident.

She then discovers that the dead have a choice. They can move on or.... just stay. Being that she is far too curious about life and still feels all of her desires for what she was to accomplish herself - she chooses to stay.

The rest of the book then centers in New Orleans during a 75 year span. It's starts in the 1920s and going nearly into the present.

She watches her friends grow old and die, her fiance slowly go on with his life... and then "moves in" with a couple and watches them struggle with their life decisions.

There's also some stories involving others who have not moved on and she interacts with them.

The book pops around between the past and present quite a bit so it's not a slothful read, you have to stay on top of it.

This is a book for anyone who's ever wondered... What would I do if I died and just wasn't ready to leave everything I know?

Welcome to the Dew Book Review Section!

Welcome to the Book Review Section at the Dew!

If you are a publishing house or author who has a book Southern in nature, or by a Southern writer, that you would like the Dew to review, please contact me at dewonthekudzu@gmail.com and I will provide you mailing information. (Wink wink, nudge nudge... the Dew has been getting a little lax about the Southern rule recently... just saying.)

The Dew tries it's best to have a review online as close to the publication date as possible, depending on the number of books waiting for review.

Please note, book reviews are the Dew's "business". The Dew does NOT post it's reviews on other sites. Please do not request that we do so. Thank you.

BUT, if I review your book, you may feel free to share it wherever you wish!
