Is there anything more horrifying than family involvement when planning a wedding? No there is not. Makes a person want to run away really.
The characters in this family drama are no different. Each has a problem or issue in their life that they feel is top priority and have no desire to push it under the rug long enough to let the bride have her day. Their problems are surely more important.
During the story, you find out about all the issues, large and small, that are plaguing the family during the planning of the wedding and one can only hope that they can be put aside to give the bride her day.
Of course, after one possibly very explosive accusation regarding a teenage niece and the groom to be.... will a wedding even take place?
This is definitely a family-in-angst themed book. There's alcoholism, cheating, love, longing, money issues....and a grandmother desperate to try to make the family come together.
If your own family issues are giving you hives, you might enjoy reading about someone else's troubles and forget about your own for a while.
