Shel’s father disappears one day…never to be found again.
But then Shel finds Dad’s handy dandy time traveling devices. He and his good buddy David head off into an adventure of their lives, looking for Dad in the past. They decide to visit all the time periods and places he had ever mentioned interest in.
They were not supposed to go into the future – ever. Who wants to find out when they or their loved ones are going to die? Well, they do travel into the future, against all good sense.
What follows is a confusing mess of interesting historical facts mixed in with episodes of time juggling that make not a lick of sense in spots. The history part is great and fascinating, but if you’re not willing to sit and really concentrate on the time “intricacies” they’re discussing as they literally go back in time 10 minutes to unlock the door and then hide from themselves standing before the door looking for their key………… I say pass on this one. I’m not even going to touch the Shel saves his own life chapter.
Not Jack’s usual sci-fi space travel adventure that I enjoy, but could still be appealing if you’re willing to study the novel you’re reading.
