Promises to Keep
Jul 5, 2010
PROMISES TO KEEP is the most personal and moving of Jane Green’s books, written to help her through the traumatic loss of one of her best friends, Heidi, who lost her battle with breast cancer last year. Jane is donating 20% of her royalties to breast cancer research.
The above is why the Dew is reviewing this book. It’s not a Southern book, nor is the author Southern. But I couldn’t possibly turn down the opportunity to share a book with you that will have such a large percentage of Jane’s profits going towards breast cancer research. I definitely felt that this book was worth the exception.

This is a story of love and friendship revolving around 8 people who all know, love or are related with each other. Callie and Steffi – sisters; Reece – Callie’s husband; Lila and her fiance, Ed; Mason – Steffi’s “friend”; and Walter and Honor – Callie and Steffi’s parents.
All have their own issues and lives they’re trying to succeed in, but all love and care for each other in their own way.
What happens when a phone call comes that will change all of their lives and remind them how very much they mean to each other, regardless of their differences?
This is a good book, an easy read… but still shares an important message. Cherish each day with your loved ones and embrace what you share with them.
As a bonus, there are recipes at the end of each chapter! Yummy recipes that I surely plan on trying out on my family.
