Grace got out of school, became a cosmetologist, married her high school boyfriend and moved away to the big city of Atlanta. Several years later she divorced her high school boyfriend, came home to her small town a few hours outside of Atlanta and now finds herself working in her Mom’s Victorian home/Beauty Parlor.
They have a good working system and make a decent living, along with Althea, long time friend of Grace’s mom, who gives facials in the salon.
Things are going along peachy until the snob of the town, Constance, pops in and demands immediate attention to her hair, but refuses to stay off her phone long enough for a proper job to be done. When Constance’s hair comes out with orange streaks in it she threatens to have the shop shut down within the week.
So of course, when she shows up dead several hours later, the main suspect is Grace’s mother, Violetta. As Grace decides to turn sleuth and help the very handsome Detective Dillon find the real killer, other mysteries, oddities and dangers start finding their way to her doorstep.
That’s all I say now because it is a murder mystery and no one wants pieces of the plot given away before they have a chance to find out for themselves do they?
A fast paced, well written read with amusing characters and a story that keeps you interested all the way through. A great beach read for the summer.
