Jason has a wonderful talent in that he can write inspirational stories without them becoming cloying tales drowning in sappiness.
We first reviewed The Cross Gardener and now his new book is out, The Seventeen Second Miracle.
The book revolves around the 17 seconds it took for tragedy to strike Rex Connor when he was 16 years old and how this affected his entire life. When he was at the edge of despair, he discovered that 17 seconds can also produce miracles. He dedicated the rest of his life to accepting and helping along tiny daily miracles that make the world a better place. He passed this on to his son, Cole.
Cole has also taken over an interesting project his father called The Discussions. Every year the high school principle sends a small amount of kids to Cole for these discussions. Cole doesn’t know their background and the kids don’t know why they’re going to Cole. All that’s known by Cole is that these kids needs “something” and maybe these discussions can bring about a Seventeen Second Miracle. This story revolves around the three kids he has come to him in the Fall and what miracles may… or may not … occur with them.
