“Classic Comfort Food That Makes Everyone Feel Like Family”

What a lovely cookbook! I so enjoyed “reading” it. I imagine you now ask, who reads a cookbook? Well, what makes this one special is that every single recipe has a little one or two paragraph story attached to it and every few pages is a lovely one page story reminiscing about Christy’s youth and how food played into family gatherings and learning lessons.

The stories are heartwarming and the recipes make my mouth just water. All good home-cooking southern recipes that I am just dying to try and recreate in my own kitchen.

From fried chicken, baked macaroni and cheese, milk gravy, pot roast, Southern apple fritters to my favorite – chocolate gravy, this recipe book makes your stomach growl and your hands reach for an apron.

A definite fine addition to my kitchen bookshelf!

Check out Christy's website for exciting new recipes and tips.

Welcome to the Book Review Section at the Dew!

If you are a publishing house or author who has a book Southern in nature, or by a Southern writer, that you would like the Dew to review, please contact me at dewonthekudzu@gmail.com and I will provide you mailing information. (Wink wink, nudge nudge... the Dew has been getting a little lax about the Southern rule recently... just saying.)

The Dew tries it's best to have a review online as close to the publication date as possible, depending on the number of books waiting for review.

Please note, book reviews are the Dew's "business". The Dew does NOT post it's reviews on other sites. Please do not request that we do so. Thank you.

BUT, if I review your book, you may feel free to share it wherever you wish!
