These books are Part 1 and 2 of The Green Series, which revolve around the story of a City Editor for a large Midwestern paper, Lois Barker, who unexpectedly inherits a small town newspaper in Green, Louisiana, when her good friend dies.
At first she has no intention of taking over this paper and uprooting her entire life, until God whispers in her ear one day and tells her to get a move on. She agrees to give it one year.
Once there, she encounters the usual shocks a city girl finds when moving to a small town where everyone has known each other since birth and nothing has changed in the last 50 years. She also, surprising to her, finds resistance when she decides to modernize the paper. People aren't always as nice in small towns as they seem to be on television. Book One centers on Lois moving to Green, meeting the folks and deciding if she might stick it out or not. Book Two revolves around the success she makes of the paper and then the opportunity she is given to go back to the life she had before. Will she stay in the small town or run back to the city and the life she's always known?
Book Three comes out in February of 2011 and it will concentrate of the a big shock the town receives and a few other surprises thrown in. I've grown to care about the people in Green, Louisiana and can't wait to find out what happens!
