I could not stop laughing while reading this! Shellie has a way of laying the Southern life out in front of you, good or bad, but in such a way that there's no ridicule, just good-natured humor.
Whether she's discussing what kind of Bubba to marry up with and bring home, how a Belle should re-gift, Kudzu and why we secretly love it, or my personal favorite - why we need a Southern GPS gadget, full of graciousness, consideration and polite terminology, you read with a smile on your face.
Then there's the very informative chapter on how to tell the difference between Normal Crazy and Straight Running Crazy. That's a chapter we all need to read, ya'll.
This book is also full of good to eat Southern recipes. Tater Tot Casseroles, Firecracker Biscuits and Busy Day Chicken are just a few examples of the good eats in this book. Once again, I face the question of where to put this book - the bookcase or the kitchen.
In addition to all this good reading, there's also little blurbs throughout explaining what certain phrases mean and also letters written in from her regular listeners/readers.
On top of all this book writing, Shellie also has many public appearances and a radio show. Check out all of the many things Shellie's up to at her site, All Things Southern.
