Adam Lee has a great life. Married for many years, wife is an heiress, great job with his father-in-law's company and a big strapping son. This is of course what everyone sees.
The truth is rarely what it appears. Adam's wife is a raging psychotic with extreme jealousy issues. He is at her every beck and call lest she throw a dangerous and violent tantrum. His big strapping son is mentally retarded and locked into a very expensive facility after nearly killing his mother and then succeeding in killing his roommate. Adam's job is with his wife's family because he had no skills and his father-in-law provided him a "career".
Adam loathes his life and tries several times to leave it, only to be talked into staying by his brother, a highly successful lawyer who constantly reminds him how much money and comfort there is in the marriage. Adam does rebel in his own way though, by starting an affair with his son's nurse.
He makes a horrible mistake when, to appease his wife, he brings his son home for a visit. At the same time he already has plans himself with his girlfriend and leaves his son and wife alone for the weekend. Upon his return he comes upon a horrific scene. A scene that at first looks very cut and dried in what happened and who's to blame.
But is it? I will say no more - you need to read the book!
A really good story, smooth reading, a "WOW!" ending - just what you need in a novel.
