The Shortest Distance Between Two Woman
Jun 29, 2009

Author: Kris Radish
Publisher: Bantam Books/Random House
Publication Date: August, 2009
ISBN:978-0-553-80541-3

The Shortest Distance Between Two Women is a coming of age story - different in the fact that the woman coming of age just happens to be 43 years old.

She is the youngest of 4 daughters who stayed in town and didn't follow her dreams or the love of her life when the opportunity came years ago. She stayed to help take care of her mother and be a shoulder to lean on after her father died.

It has taken her this long to realize that her mother has never needed that shoulder and is doing quite well on her own, but that meanwhile her sisters, who appear to have deep issues of their own, have become quite dependent on her themselves and use her as the family packmule.

When she suddenly decides to take her life back and stop feeling sorry for herself, she finds out all sorts of interesting things about her family, how they feel about her, and how much everyone needs or doesn't need her.

The question is, will she continue on as she has been for the last 20 years, or will she break free and go after those dreams she's suppressed all this time?

What will she do about the message on her phone answering machine from the love of her life, who calls after 20 years apart?

Read the book and find out!

Welcome to the Dew Book Review Section!

Welcome to the Book Review Section at the Dew!

If you are a publishing house or author who has a book Southern in nature, or by a Southern writer, that you would like the Dew to review, please contact me at dewonthekudzu@gmail.com and I will provide you mailing information. (Wink wink, nudge nudge... the Dew has been getting a little lax about the Southern rule recently... just saying.)

The Dew tries it's best to have a review online as close to the publication date as possible, depending on the number of books waiting for review.

Please note, book reviews are the Dew's "business". The Dew does NOT post it's reviews on other sites. Please do not request that we do so. Thank you.

BUT, if I review your book, you may feel free to share it wherever you wish!
