This is a great graphic novel that is perfect for October, which as anyone who has gone to a store this month knows, is Breast Cancer (PINK!) Month.

Marisa was in her early 40's, lived life to the fullest in New York City, met a wonderful man who happened to own a wonderful restaurant and was on her way to becoming a first time bride when.......................she found a lump.

This graphic novel is a heartwarming, amusing, gripping and completely realistic look at what happens when cancer is discovered and your life looks as if it could fall apart completely - if you survive.

Marisa put on her war paint and decided to become a cancer vixen instead of victim. She amusingly described the tests and procedures that you have to go through to come out on top of this disease and cuts no corners on the descriptions. Her graphics of a mammogram will have you laughing and wincing at the same time.

This is a great informational book, fun to read, and an inspiration for those who discover they might have to deal with this illness in their life.

Welcome to the Book Review Section at the Dew!

If you are a publishing house or author who has a book Southern in nature, or by a Southern writer, that you would like the Dew to review, please contact me at dewonthekudzu@gmail.com and I will provide you mailing information. (Wink wink, nudge nudge... the Dew has been getting a little lax about the Southern rule recently... just saying.)

The Dew tries it's best to have a review online as close to the publication date as possible, depending on the number of books waiting for review.

Please note, book reviews are the Dew's "business". The Dew does NOT post it's reviews on other sites. Please do not request that we do so. Thank you.

BUT, if I review your book, you may feel free to share it wherever you wish!
