Little Boy Blues, A Memoir

Little Boy Blues
A Memoir
Author: Malcolm Jones
Publisher: Pantheon
Publication Date: Jan. 12, 2010
ISBN: 978-0-307-37772-2 (0-307-37772-5)

A small but fascinating story based on Malcolm's youthful memories of his life.

Malcolm was raised in the South in the 50's and 60's - a time when the whole world was changing in the way it looked, thought and acted. Woman were starting to have careers while desegregation was occurring and the genteel old South was slowly being left behind.

Not only was the world around Malcolm changing, but his parents were also changing and growing apart. 10 years before they would have continued to live separate lives in the same house, but this was the new world and they had other choices. So his father left them and he and his mother now had to make their own way.

Malcolm's memories are told in this charming book that brings alive the past and how the South once was - good and bad. The memories are those of a small boy and it's always interesting to see how everday occurances are perceived through smaller eyes than ours.

Welcome to the Dew Book Review Section!

Welcome to the Book Review Section at the Dew!

If you are a publishing house or author who has a book Southern in nature, or by a Southern writer, that you would like the Dew to review, please contact me at dewonthekudzu@gmail.com and I will provide you mailing information. (Wink wink, nudge nudge... the Dew has been getting a little lax about the Southern rule recently... just saying.)

The Dew tries it's best to have a review online as close to the publication date as possible, depending on the number of books waiting for review.

Please note, book reviews are the Dew's "business". The Dew does NOT post it's reviews on other sites. Please do not request that we do so. Thank you.

BUT, if I review your book, you may feel free to share it wherever you wish!
