Mace is a good cop with a solid reputation, until she is kidnapped, drugged and involved in a crime she can't even remember. An overzealous lawyer manages to get her convicted and sent to prison for 2 years. Even her sister, the Chief of Police, couldn't stop the conviction.

Now Mace is out and wants her reputation and her career back. She has to struggle through rumors and a ruined reputation, along with a hateful attorney who would love nothing more than to send her back to prison.

Mace hooks up with a high priced lawyer who found his partner dead and wants to know why and if he's next. A routine investigation, with Mace not officially on it, turns very dark and sinister the deeper they dig.

A big book, one you can really sink your teeth into. Lots of police procedure involved and enough intrigue to keep you going. I enjoyed the fact that the two main characters are both tough women in big careers - but still feminine. If you like police fiction, this a perfect book for you.

Welcome to the Dew Book Review Section!

Welcome to the Book Review Section at the Dew!

If you are a publishing house or author who has a book Southern in nature, or by a Southern writer, that you would like the Dew to review, please contact me at dewonthekudzu@gmail.com and I will provide you mailing information. (Wink wink, nudge nudge... the Dew has been getting a little lax about the Southern rule recently... just saying.)

The Dew tries it's best to have a review online as close to the publication date as possible, depending on the number of books waiting for review.

Please note, book reviews are the Dew's "business". The Dew does NOT post it's reviews on other sites. Please do not request that we do so. Thank you.

BUT, if I review your book, you may feel free to share it wherever you wish!
