Clarissa is married to a much older man who she used to believe was a great artist, but now is suspecting that all of his art is created for the sole purpose of getting young girls naked in front of him.

She herself is a writer of two best selling novels, of which her husband enjoys spending the proceeds from. Unfortunately, she's now stuck with writer's block, left to do nothing more than garden and cook while looking out the back window to watch her hubby fawn over young girls while "creating art".

Clarissa finally decides she's had enough and she heads out to do something she wants for a change. Her only mode of transportation is a truck so run down no one is sure how it even moves.

During the next 24 hour period, after the truck breathes it's last at a hole in the wall country store, Clarissa embarks on the adventure of her life - meeting new friends, doing for herself for the first time in years, talking to ghosts and gnomes... yes, you heard that right, ghosts and gnomes.

The book starts out as the usual mid-life crisis type of story, "Where do I go from here," and takes an interesting corner about halfway through.

The characters are for the most part fun and you really root for Clarissa to continue to grow into herself and not go back to her useless husband. With only 24 hours in the story, it's a fast paced read.

Welcome to the Book Review Section at the Dew!

If you are a publishing house or author who has a book Southern in nature, or by a Southern writer, that you would like the Dew to review, please contact me at dewonthekudzu@gmail.com and I will provide you mailing information. (Wink wink, nudge nudge... the Dew has been getting a little lax about the Southern rule recently... just saying.)

The Dew tries it's best to have a review online as close to the publication date as possible, depending on the number of books waiting for review.

Please note, book reviews are the Dew's "business". The Dew does NOT post it's reviews on other sites. Please do not request that we do so. Thank you.

BUT, if I review your book, you may feel free to share it wherever you wish!
