Who doesn’t love the story of Jamie and Claire from the fantastic Outlander series?! Now if you’re like me, or the 1,000 people I saw waiting to see Diana at the last book festival I was at, you’re always waiting for new Outlander goodies to come your way. Diana puts a lot of time and detail into her books, so they are not an annual event. While waiting for the next installment, this is a great bone to throw the fans.
It’s a graphic novel rendition of the original book in the series – Outlander - with a few tweaks here and there. This time the story is told from the viewpoint of Murtagh, Jamie’s Uncle.
It has all the key points and story lines of the original novel, but in lovely full color graphics. I will note here – this is not a book you want younger kids to look at, even though they will want to, as some of the graphics are…well… graphic. Let’s just say there’s a lot of bosom heaving going on here.
I’m sure there will be plenty of discussions on whether the characters in the book match how you’ve imagined them for all these years – I thought they were pretty darn close to how I had.
It’s a fun book to add to your Outlander/Diana Gabaldon collection!
