The Perfect Love Song is a lovely little book about making choices. What really matters in the your life. How far you would go to achieve your goals, even if achieving them could ruin something else that’s wonderful in your life.
Jimmy Sullivan has a goal. He wants to become a famous country singer. He’s been working toward this goal most of his adult life. He has a band and gigs and is “almost there”. Then he meets Charlotte. For the first time in his life he feels true love. But when success finds him, will he sacrifice love for it? After all, success only found him because - to celebrate his love for Charlotte - he wrote The Perfect Love Song for her and watched it climb the charts.
A very nice story here.
Also, if you feel you have some song writing talent, country songwriter Dallas Davidson will be judging entries to find The Perfect Love Song. Go HERE for entry details.

We asked Patti about holidays in the South and her reply is below.. I think you'll find it interesting.
Question: “What do you think is special about celebrating holidays in the South?”
Patti Callahan Henry: “As a fiction writer I have this wild imagination, and I often see the South made from not just land and homes and oceans and rivers, but from stories. In some magical way, the south seems to be built and constructed from the fragments of stories told and retold, tales mastered until they are as solid as the concrete of any structure. So holidays in the south, to me, are special in that the ‘story’ is celebrated in a profound way – it is told over and over, whether in a manger in a front yard full of weeds or the family dinner table. The south brings out its finery as families gather and not only celebrate stories, but build new ones.”
