Murder on Music Row
Author; Stuart Dill
Publisher: John F. Blair, Publisher
ISBN: 978-0-89587-565-5
ebook ISBN: 978-0-89587-567-9
Publication Date: October 2011

This is a fictional story of an attempted murder in Nashville -  but I would almost call it a documentary at the same time.

Stuart has been in the Country music business for 25 years, managing such stars at Jo Dee Messina (love her!), Dwight Yoakam, Minnie Pearl and many more.  His experience and knowledge jumps out at you from the pages.  When he mentions an artist in a throw off line, you know that he's actually met this person.  There's no bashing of real people in this book at all, but you can tell there's definite knowledge of them.......and their quirks.  He also goes into finite detail about the music industry processes and workings.  I don't want to say I now know more than I needed to  - but if you want to know how it really happens in the industry, this book will tell you.  A lot of the glamour washed away!  :)

Surrounding all this detail about Music Row is a solid thriller. Judd Nix is an intern in a Nashville management agency hoping to work his way into a solid position and become one of the movers and shakers in the industry.  He's working for one of the biggest movers and shakers right now, who happens to be managing THE biggest act in Nashville.

Judd soon learns that all is never as it seems - even the great stars with their shining personalities on stage.  When Simon, his boss, is gunned down during a rehearsal everyone assumes that the bullet was meant for the star of the show, Ripley Graham.  But as Judd starts digging around at his boss' request while he's in the hospital recovering, Judd soon discovers that there's quite a few dark secrets floating around and Ripley might not have been the target at all.  Judd may just be in danger with his new knowledge.

This book has a great twist.. one that would have the Nashville scene buzzing for a year if it happened in real life!

Welcome to the Book Review Section at the Dew!

If you are a publishing house or author who has a book Southern in nature, or by a Southern writer, that you would like the Dew to review, please contact me at dewonthekudzu@gmail.com and I will provide you mailing information. (Wink wink, nudge nudge... the Dew has been getting a little lax about the Southern rule recently... just saying.)

The Dew tries it's best to have a review online as close to the publication date as possible, depending on the number of books waiting for review.

Please note, book reviews are the Dew's "business". The Dew does NOT post it's reviews on other sites. Please do not request that we do so. Thank you.

BUT, if I review your book, you may feel free to share it wherever you wish!
