In the introduction to this beautiful book, Fannie Flagg states it best. Morgan has combined two books – a cookbook and a travel guide – into one fun, colorful and useful book. I can’t decide whether to put it in my kitchen or my “fancy room” with the picture books.
Morgan goes through the entire South (including Missouri, Delaware and Oklahoma) and catalogs great places to eat, fun places to make sure you stop and take a picture at, and the recipes that you know you want to take home with you. All of this is pulled together with wonderful photography and artwork. The whole darn book is just so pretty!
The next time I take a road trip with the family, I’m taking this book and mapping out where we’re eating along the way!
Now ya’ll will have to excuse me, I’m gonna go whip up a batch of Pecan Chicken in Woodford Reserve Maple Cream Sauce! (page 91,Kentucky)
