"A Jersey Barnes Mystery"
Book Three
One of the reviews on the back book jacket of this book describes T. Lynn as a Southern Janet Evanovich. That hits the nail right on the head.
Jersey is a private investigator who also has a past life as a government agent. She has successfully retired from the government but is having a darn hard time retiring from being a PI.
When the book starts she lives above a bar she owns with her fat dog, her incredibly funny father, Spud and his very feisty girlfriend. (An incredibly "lively" couple!) She also happens to drive around in a converted hearse because of it's sound system.
She continues to spout her retirement proclamation even while a judge she's known for years begs her to find out what's going on with her brother. So, while retired, she suddenly finds herself looking into a situation involving a fancy restaurant, 2 mysterious deaths, hidden microphones, a 20 year old secret and drug dealers. Then a very attractive, single DEA agent appears on her doorstep to help her with the case, whether she likes it or not.
A fun read, never a slow moment. It keeps your entertained and interested the entire time. I think I'll go back and read the first two books now!
