What a lovely little book! Terry is a Military Wife and therefore knows what she speaks of.
Each chapter is a different character speaking from the standpoint of being a military wife and the struggles that are endured, fretted over, or resolved.
These stories are very real and even a non-military reader can relate to them.
One example is the wife that bravely follows her husband from one foreign base to the next before she finally admits that she longs to keep her children in their hometown in the USA, even though that means leaving her husband behind.
Another very gripping story is the soldier who comes home with deep wounds and a few less limbs than he started out with. How the wife, children and husband manage to come back together as a sound family unit able to deal with this new life is wonderful to read.
It reminds you that not only are these soldiers protecting our country, but at the same time they are attempting to have a normal family relationship.
As I said, it's a small book, but that's an advantage as it's easy to carry with you and since each chapter is it's own story, it's a perfect lunchtime read.
