This is a sequel of her huge hit book, Sullivan's Island. The main character is now the daughter of the protagonist in the first book.
Susan had thought she had escaped from her eccentric family on the island by going off to school. Upon graduation she had big dreams for herself. Alas, her family called her home as they wanted to go traveling for a year. Apparently the house cannot be left in the hands of strangers or unattended.
The ghosts that live there don't like that you see.
The ghosts that pop out of mirrors and make a lot of hand gestures to tell you what you are or aren't doing right.
So Susan came home with the idea of dabbling in writing for that year.
But soon, between attractive men suddenly showing up, ghosts all around, murder and general mayhem - she finds herself much busier than expected.
This is a definite fun "beach read" with plenty of eccentric characters, love, lust, laughter and of course... murder and ghosts!
I did not read the first book, but found I wasn't left hanging with missing plot - this is a fine standalone story.
