Kennesaw Tanner is back! The Dew reviewed the first book in this series in April of 2010 and liked Kennesaw immediately. He's a serious kind of guy with enough humor and good nature-ness (yes, I know, not a real word, but an apt description) to make him interesting. "Retired" from the world of crime fighting, he constantly gets pulled back in.
This time he's helping a friend of a friend find out whether her daughter really jumped off a bridge, killing herself, or was it murder as the mother insists. While Kennesaw investigates he receives the help of a very attractive detective Patricia Latham, They suddenly find themselves deep in a mystery involving teenagers, the skin trade, corruption and murder.
This story is set in and among the barrier islands on the Southern coastline and has a little bit of everything in it, including voodoo, island history and what wine to drink with stuffed crab.
Good stuff!
