For those of you used to Preston and Child writing their Agent Pendergast series, this is a great treat - they have come up with another intriguing character for us to enjoy.
Gideon Crew has worked his entire life to avenge his father's death by the government who used him as a scapegoat for a spy maneuver gone wrong that cost 26 people their lives. For years the world believed Gideon's father was a traitor to the country.
Now the time has come to prove his father's innocence. But in doing so he comes to the attention of other agencies within the government that would like to utilize his special talents for their own agendas. Meanwhile, Gideon also hears some news that makes him face his own mortality.
What follows is a great, action packed book that keeps you hanging on, eager for the next chapter and what follows in it.
Gideon happens to have a sense of humor that is always enjoyable in a "man o action" type story. A fun, fast read - I tore through the book in a day, unable to put it down for long.
