From the Book:

The Art of LIFE BLENDING®
is about seeking Life Enhancing Experiences on an every day basis to lift one’s spirit, keep channels open for creative flow and mellow out the highs and lows of life.

Hal Stowers is known through his Environmental Art, and for being a part of a grass roots movement that began in the Sixties and resulted inlaws protecting shorelines and wetlands including a string of pristine barrier islands off the West Coast of Florida – Caladesi Island, Honeymoon Island, and Anclote Key – that are now part of the State Park system.Today, he says equally important to creating his environmental art, is “sharing LIFE BLENDING® to help fulfill a universal need to lift humankind’s spirit.”

From Idgie:
The above verbage from that book describes the why and how it came about.  Now let's discuss the book itself.

It's a thing of beauty.  A heavy, oversized, full color coffee table book that shows everything from actual sunsets in the Florida Keys to Hal's re-creation of it on canvas.  Photos of sculptures that capture nature in all it's beauty.  There are passages and photos explaining the importance of preserving what we have and helping to foster growth before it's too late.  There are sections just explaining how to achieve a "Life Blending" of your own - which I take to heart as learning to work and play in a good balanced way, or find a way to incorporate them together, as Hal has done with his art and nature conservancy efforts.

A beautiful addition to your home and it might just inspire you to join in an environmental effort or two!.

Welcome to the Dew Book Review Section!

Welcome to the Book Review Section at the Dew!

If you are a publishing house or author who has a book Southern in nature, or by a Southern writer, that you would like the Dew to review, please contact me at dewonthekudzu@gmail.com and I will provide you mailing information. (Wink wink, nudge nudge... the Dew has been getting a little lax about the Southern rule recently... just saying.)

The Dew tries it's best to have a review online as close to the publication date as possible, depending on the number of books waiting for review.

Please note, book reviews are the Dew's "business". The Dew does NOT post it's reviews on other sites. Please do not request that we do so. Thank you.

BUT, if I review your book, you may feel free to share it wherever you wish!
