The First Love Cookie Club
Author: Lori Wilde
Publisher: Avon Romance/Harper Collins
Publication Date: October, 2010
ISBN: 978-0-06-198842-4

This book has a very sweet silly name that might lead you to believe it's something Maeve Binchy might write. But it's a true blue romance novel with a very sweet story in the middle.

Sarah left Twilight, Texas at 16 and never looked back after being absolutely mortified by her own behavior. You see, she had very romantic dreams of the boy across the road and believed, via her grandmother's fables, that if you slept with a Kismet cookie under your pillow your dreams of love came true. So when she heard he was getting married, she barged into the church and declared to all that he couldn't as she was to be his one true love.

You can imagine how that turned out.

7 years later she's the hit author of a fast selling children's book, using an alias. She receives a sweet letter from a little girl who's very ill and believes she'll die. She wants to meet the author before that happens.

What Sarah doesn't know is that the little girl's daddy is her own "one true love" from 7 years ago. Now a single parent with a desperately ill child.

Sarah returns to the town to grant the child's wish. One look at her daddy is all it takes to get that old feeling back - the one she pushed way down deep many years ago.

Will Travis feel the same way now that they're older and he's single again? Or will the fear for his daughter keep him at arms length one more time?

A good read, some real emotion was put into the writing and it shows.

Welcome to the Book Review Section at the Dew!

If you are a publishing house or author who has a book Southern in nature, or by a Southern writer, that you would like the Dew to review, please contact me at dewonthekudzu@gmail.com and I will provide you mailing information. (Wink wink, nudge nudge... the Dew has been getting a little lax about the Southern rule recently... just saying.)

The Dew tries it's best to have a review online as close to the publication date as possible, depending on the number of books waiting for review.

Please note, book reviews are the Dew's "business". The Dew does NOT post it's reviews on other sites. Please do not request that we do so. Thank you.

BUT, if I review your book, you may feel free to share it wherever you wish!
