This is a re-issue of Loretta's very, very interesting life. Random House is also releasing the audio edition on CD and digital download with Sissy Spacek narrating. On top of that Sony Nashville Music is releasing a tribute album featuring Loretta's music covered by everyone from Carrie Underwood to the White Stripes. The album releases on November 2nd.
This re-issue also contains a new preface by Loretta herself.
Loretta was born into poverty, married at 13, had 6 kids and somehow fought all the odds to become a Nashville legend beloved by all.
If you haven't read this story yet, it's not to be missed. Loretta herself has quite a ribald sense of humor that often takes you by surprise when you're reading. It's a fun read.
